I find the Chinese people on average I meet overseas or in China/Taiwan/Hong Kong quite plain in appearance compared to when I’ve spent time in Japan/Korea.
It’s hard to have a stimulating conversation w/them.
There seems to be only 2 types of Chinese:
The more rich,educated who like:
-Hollywood movies only but not smaller indie/foreign films
- Loud obvious brand driven status like Mercedes, Versace, Gucci but not Alexander McQueen or Stella McCartney as it’s not obvious enough even tho it’s the same price level
- Chinese food only no interest in other country foods
- They have fat,spoiled children
- No interest in sports or outdoorsy things
The Average Chinese:
- Video games
- No fashion sense or tacky fashion sense
- Girls have tacky perms,dyed hair (unliked polished looks of Korean/Japanese)
- Girls have no makeup but they could try to use it as looks are important in society
- Guys look like nerds, greasy hair, glasses, out of shape bodies
- Because they look nerdy they don’t look confident
- Don’t drink or know how to make small talk
- Loud, ask very personal questions: how much money do you make? you look fat, wah, aya you have big pimple on your face.
- Very blunt and direct and speak their minds about you even if it’s unpleasant
- Not very well-mannered
Why are Japanese and Koreans more similar more able to have manners be Modern but for Chinese they seem more stubborn to change? Sorry I’m not trying to be racist as I’m here in China trying to learn about culture but it’s very different from what I expected. Thanks.
